first person on a computer-vision system to track judo players. my first real applied AI.

a final-year sports-science internship at IIT Madras, with the Inspire Institute of Sport in Bellary. coaches wanted to measure how long players spent in contact during throws, on a mat split into a grid of quadrants, each one focusable from a coach's tablet. i was the first person assigned to it, so there was nothing to inherit. i built the initial infrastructure from zero, learned camera hardware from old low-level docs, learned computer vision from scratch, and left a foundation for the team to carry forward.
